FAQs

What date is Swansea fringe ?
The 2024 Swansea fringe will run from Thursday 3rd October till Saturday 5th October

How much are tickets?
Tickets will be available soon and will be priced on three different tiers
1) per event
2) Day Ticket
3) full weekend ticket
Keep an eye out for special deals on earlybird tickets coming soon

Do I have to have my tickets with me to get in to every event?
No. We’ll have our wristband exchange set up at The Bunkhouse, to make things easier for you can come and exchange your weekend or day ticket for a wristband so just a quick flash of the wrist will get you in to every event

Where can I get tickets from ?
Tickets will be on sale via Ticket 24/7, we’ll post the link as soon as they’re on sale, follow our socials to be the first to find out

Are Children allowed at Swansea fringe events?
We get asked this often, it varies from event to event and venue to venue. Different venues have different rules, most of them are child friendly during daytime hours, but may be less appropriate the later it gets, our advice is to check with the individual venue as to what their policy is

What is the festival like for wheelchair / disabled access?
Most venues are very wheelchair / disabled friendly, however there are some – such as Ty Tawe or hangar 18 – that do involve stairs, if you think this may be an issue we’d advise you to get in touch or check with the venue and we’re sure they’ll do their best to help you, as will we

Are dogs allowed?
Again as it’s a multi venue festival its best to check with the individual venue once you have a particular event in mind, several venues are definitely dog friendly, although this may not extend through to night time events when they’re more busy

What time do events start / finish ?
This obviously varies depending on the day, but the earliest events start at about midday on the Saturday with Thursday and Friday being evening only, most of the evening events finish by about 11 pm but some venues have DJ’s and club nights on till late so you can carry on partying in to the wee small hours.

Does the festival cater for Welsh language music?
Yes! Whilst we aren’t all Welsh speakers, we’re very proud of our Welsh heritage, thanks to the team a Menter iaith Abertawe we have a great selection of Welsh language artists spread over the festival, some mixed in with English language artists and some on entirely Welsh language stages, see the line up pages for details.

I want to stay for the whole weekend, where’s good?
There’s a couple of reasonably priced hotels around the city center and a couple of hostels if your budget is a bit tighter

I’d like to volunteer at the fringe how do I make this happen?
We welcome all volunteers, we have a good core group of experienced volunteers but we could always do with more, after all, many hands make light work. You get a free weekend ticket for volunteering and there’s many different roles we could use you in, from technical volunteers helping with audio and lighting to simply sitting on doors and taking payments / checking wristbands.
